LOS ANGELES — On October 24, the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office announced its latest initiative in partnership with Accent Housing. Together and with the generous donations of private L.A. citizens, they will be covering the housing costs for all international college students who choose to spend this summer interning in Los Angeles.

The ‘L.A. Dreaming’ initiative aims to attract international college students, attending universities in the United States or not, to the Los Angeles area. Students will live in residence halls kindly donated by Accent Housing, where they will have the opportunity to meet and build relationships with fellow students from around the world.

“Los Angeles has so much to offer these young students and aspiring professionals,” says Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. “We hope that Los Angeles will become a hub for international students looking to launch their careers in the United States. We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to assist them in their endeavors and hope they will find living here to be as exciting and rewarding as we have,” he added.

The application process is simple. Applicants must be an international student currently enrolled at a four-year college or university, and have accepted a job offer in Los Angeles for the summer of 2021. Interested students can go to www.lamayor.org/LAdreaming for more information and to apply.
